Somehow, Irrational Games and 2K Games have managed to keep a secret about their upcoming first-person action/rpg, even though its U.S. release is little over a week away. The gaming community can expect to see a brand new trailer and learn something new about the game by watching the TV show Game Head later today.
Speculation regarding the announcement ranges from downloadable content to multiplayer action to the inclusion of cuddly underwater bunnies that restore health. Or maybe the game will follow in the footsteps of its developer, and be renamed 2K Shock, or something of that nature.
Whatever the surprise may eventually be, the hype meter has officially been set. Hopefully the promise by Game Head that gamers "won’t want to miss this!" turns out to be true, because as a spiritual successor to the lauded System Shock series, only great things are expected from Bioshock.
The game is scheduled for release on August 21st for the PC and Xbox 360.
