Parental controls come to the Xbox 360

PCKid’s everywhere are going to be cursing the sky, because the most dangerous playtime destroyer since the vacuum killer is about to hit the block: The 360 parental control feature. This is a move by Microsoft to become more appealing to mainstream consumers and casual gamers. (See our other related story here.)

The new parental controls will enable parents to physically limit the time children can play the games, whether that be a daily or weekly amount. This time, instead of a busy parent enforcing the time (which can lead to some extra playtime if they forget), the machine itself will shut itself off when the time limit is reached.

I’m so glad this stuff came out after my childhood. Suckahhs!
