The Xbox 360 game library has often been criticized as top-heavy with shooters and lacking enough games for general appeal. But Xbox Europe boss Chris Lewis doesn’t think that way at all. If anything he believes that the 360 has the best game library of any platform out there.
"I certainly wouldn’t trade places with any other platform holder right now. We’ve got the best games line-up, over 1,000 games for the holiday period – that’s true for exclusive and first-party and third party. We do, genuinely, I think, have the best games for both the core and the masses."
Lewis also believes that the Xbox 360 will dominate in Europe, contrary to the beliefs of business analysts on Wall Street.
"We are very well positioned to win in Europe, [with the] best games for the core and the family, best service and a great set of price points to broaden our appeal to a wider community And a lot more to come."
So will the Xbox 360 truly win in Europe as Lewis believes? If this question were asked a year ago, the answer would have probably been yes. But the PS3, seemingly coming back from the dead, is making a strong return and odds are that the Battle for Europe won’t be settled overnight. Microsoft will have to work extremely hard if they truly want the crown.
