Anyone who has heard the story of the "boy who cried wolf" is familiar with the fable’s plot and lesson. In the same way, we’ve heard many stories about a coming price drop for the PS3 and Xbox 360 without it really happening.
If and when it does come, will anybody really believe it?
Enter the latest rumor for price reductions: GameDaily says that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are headed for a price drop: $50 and $100 respectively. This means that the Xbox 360 premium edition will drop from $399 to $349 and Sony’s flagship game console from $599 to $499.
And when will all this possibly happen? GameDaily says it suspects that the news will be unleashed upon the world at the upcoming E3 convention next week on July 11.
Do we believe this rumor? Remember what we said about story about the boy who cried wolf? We’ve heard this story too many times without seeing anything happen.
So let’s just say we’ll believe it when we see it.
