In 1980 the U.S. Olympic hockey team miraculously beat the invincible Russians. 2,000 years ago, Jesus walked on water. The Xbox 360 Elite sold out in Japan last Friday.
What does all this mean?
Either Jesus was walking around Japan making money appear in the registers while making 360s evaporate while beating on the Russians, or Microsoft is making headway in Japan.
Kotaku reported that during the Xbox 360 Elite’s launch, several major retailers completely sold out.
Ok, not that big of a deal for us in America and overseas, right? But don’t forget that when the 360 and original Xbox first hit shelves in Japan, they both failed miserably. I don’t know if it was a sense of nationalism for native based Sony, or an undying hatred of FPS games, or perhaps even forces at work that we can’t see.
Whether or not it’s a flash in the pan, I’m shocked. Golf claps for Microsoft.
