Game magazines are having a tough time in competing with online gamer websites but in spite of this, Xbox 360 publications are still pulling their weight.
The Official Xbox 360, Xbox 369 World, 360 Gamer, 360 and X360 have all gone up in their circulation numbers. Increases range from a modest few hundred to an extra 7,000 subscriptions.
On the flipside of the magazine world are the PlayStation magazines. These, unfortunately, aren’t doing as well. The publication, Official Playstation 2, dropped 30,000 in circulation compared to last year’s figures while Playstation World and PSM3 have gone down as well.
The Official Nintendo Magazine has seen a spurt of growth from 43,000 to approximately 48,000 since last year.
The magazine popularity seems to mimic that of the real world, with the exception of the PS2, which continues to chug ahead with strong sales numbers. As for the others, everything seems pretty much on the mark.
But the real question is this: do gamers still subscribe to printed material for their primary gaming info or look to websites (like here) for their news?
