The 2008 Tokyo Game Show has been officially penned in for October 9th-12th, according to a press release on the event’s website. The show’s organizers, CESA, have decided to push this year’s show back from its typical September timeslot, but have given no specific reason as to why that decision was made.
This year’s show will take place in the same venue as it has in previous years – the Makuhari Messe convention center – and will retain last year’s format of two trade-only days followed by two days of open-to-the-public exhibition.
Since the downsizing of the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, TGS has become the gaming industry’s largest annual event, a distinction I’m sure it hopes to maintain.
